WOMAD Festival Invites Tidworth Festival Ticket Holder to WOMAD this weekend
Following the announcement that the Tidworth Festival has sadly been forced into administration and is unable to refund ticket holders, the organisers of the WOMAD festival, which is taking place in Wiltshire this weekend have stepped forward and invited people who have tickets for the Tidworth event to come to WOMAD instead for no extra charge.
The WOMAD offer would enable holders of Tidworth Festival tickets to exchange them for a day pass on either Saturday or Sunday. As the WOMAD festival is also trying to raise money for Co-founder Peter Gabriel's charity "Witness" people who take up this offer will be invited to make a voluntary donation of £10 to Witness.
This is the third year at the new site at Charlton Park near Malmesbury and even though ticket sales have increased each year, as it is such a large site WOMAD is happy to accommodate more festival goer's
A spokesman for WOMAD said "When we heard about the difficult situation in Tidworth our thoughts went out to the people involved and we felt that as another business base in Wiltshire we could help alleviate the disappointment experienced by the ticket holders by inviting them to our festival'.
Whilst WOMAD is different in content to the Tidworth Festival it shares the common value of being very family centred with lots of activities for children along with six stages offering performance from artists from all over the world including a rare opportunity to enjoy a performance by Peter Gabriel on Saturday night.
This years WOMAD festival, the 27th annual event in the UK, has a wonderful eclectic mix of artists from all over the world ranging from the familiar to the unusual, with many artists performing in the UK for the first time.
