Tidworth Area Festival Committee was set up to organise and run the event as an independent 'organisation' with its own bank account. It has a constitution that expressly forbids any individual on the committee benefiting from its funds. The constitution states that, after deduction of expenditure, surplus funds can only be used for the following purposes within Tidworth Community Area and Shipton Bellinger: 1. To create a reserve to enable future events to be financially secure 2. For school projects 3. For community projects that involve schools, and 4. For community projects Priority of items 2 to 4 is in that order.
With the assistance of sponsors it is hoped that each year we will be able to gain sufficient funds to be able to distribute money to these types of project and how this distribution is done will be decided by an independent panel unconnected with the Festival Committee.
TAF 2006 only generated a small surplus, but the Committee decided that the seven schools in the area should be given £75.00 each. |
